HIV / AIDS Education for Health Care Providers

Island County Public Health does not provide specific HIV/AIDS training or education for health care providers.  However, there is a great online resource for this state required training.  The free, online HIV/AIDS education course is available at: http://www.wsda.org/hiv-aids-course/.  This course meets the 7-clock-hours of AIDS/HIV training required by the Washington State Department of Health.  This particular course is hosted through the Washington State Dental Association, and as a result, you will notice that it was developed to address dental health concerns in addition to providing quality information regarding HIV/AIDS for all health care workers.  At the end of the course a certificate of completion is provided.

If you are not a dental health worker and would like a standard certificate of completion from Island County Public Health, please email Katie Hicks at katieh@co.island.wa.us a request including your full name and mailing address after completing all 6 educational units and the quizzes at each unit's end.  However, since this course meets the Washington State standards for training, there is no need to have a separate certificate than the one provided through the course.
